The Tammy Faye Biopic
In the battle between faith and wealth, the winner is obvious for greed in this director's wonderfully garish true story of the disgraced TV preacher and her felon spouse. The actor acts as the corrupt Bakker, who proclaims at the beginning, asserting religious justification for riches. Both individuals begin capitalizing on the nation's religious faith. It's an extravaganza of bad interior design, excessive cosmetics and bad faith, though the lead actress manages to show the character in a likable light. Tuesday 14 October, early morning, Film4
